The Plight of the Wooden Eels

Lately Room 11 have been studying long finned eels so their teacher, Mrs Duncan, went down to the beach and got some sticks. The next day the students each selected a stick to paint and then set to work. Soon students were prancing around the classroom clutching brightly coloured eels with sequins for eyes and foam tails.

When all the eels were finished they were transferred to the library where Matua Vern hung them up on the wall so everyone can come from far and wide to see the great wooden eels.
