Learning to swim at Victory Primary School

Yay! It's swimming season at Victory Primary School.

The juniors are swimming most days in the school pool. They are learning to use their arms and legs and to put their heads under the water.the kids are really enjoying swimming because on hot days they get to go in to the cold water. The juniors have finished swimming lessons and the seniors have started.

Drums beat at Victory

On Monday 17 February Koffie came to Victory Primary School to teach us about drums. Koffie is from Ghana.

He let the Year 5 and 6 students try and play the drums. There were two types of drums - djembe & kbanlongo. One of the drums has both a girl drum and a boy drum. The girl drum sounds higher than the boy one because the girls voice is higher than the boys. It was lots of fun hearing all of the sounds the drums can make. Ayden loved all of it, he thought it was the best. Kyla and Zara like seeing year 5 and 6 playing the drums but they found it loud. By Megan
