A Word from the Principal
Mrs Taylor is the acting principal until we get a new principal. "The year has started positively with lots of energy and excitement from the teachers and children." said Mrs Taylor. She enjoys that everyday there are different things happening - for example interviewing leaders and finding out about their good ideas.
"I really enjoy being the principal. It makes me happy to see children grow and become more confident," she said. "I think it will be an exciting positive year." Mrs Taylor loves being the principal because she gets to make decisions everyday to help children learn and be independent and make good choices.

Riverside Swimming for Seniors
This year (2014) all of the Victory Primary School students went to the school swimming pool for lessons. The students enjoyed swimming although when it got to the seniors turn it was a little chilly sometimes.
The seniors also went to Riverside Pool. At Riverside pool the students got to learn survival skills using life lifejackets. The students enjoyed putting their skills into practice in deep water.

Visitor From Overseas
Olive has come to our school from England. She is staying for two weeks. The thing she finds different is the accent. She finds it very hard to understand the "E" in words like ten.
Olive has enjoyed swimming because they do not do it very much in England as it is very, very cold.

Humans vs Wasps
On the 28th of February the middle syndicate went to the beach for a treasure hunt with 12 senior students to help. Everything was going great until someone stepped on a wasp nest, then everyone had to run for safety.
Twenty children got stung by wasps and some were sent to the hospital along with one adult who had a really bad allergic reaction.
Victory students and staff hope that all involved are now well and have recovered from their unexpected adventure!

Swimming at Riverside
Room 11 has been swimming at Riverside Pool.
Some children were diving into the deep end. They had life jackets on. Ms Duncan was teaching the other children to swim.
"It was really, really warm," said Hannah. "I liked diving down to the bottom of the pool and getting things from the bottom."

Exihibition at the Refinery
Phoenix, Blade, Oliver, Dan, Kelly and Tia walked to the Refinery Artspace by ANZAC Park to see Ben Jackson's solo exhibition.
They looked at lots of pictures with hearts, and pictures of his family members. Phoenix, Blade and Oliver also got to see the blankets, mat and balls that were made out of computer wires.
Phoenix said her favourite thing was Tim's Grandma's tea set.
After they looked at the objects they had to go back to school. On their way they played on the Victory Square playground.
